Dental Plan

Starting January 1, 2023, Green Shield Canada (GSC) will be the new insurance carrier for active teachers’ dental benefits. Your dental benefits will not change as a result of this move
The change to Green Shield Canada (GSC) does not affect retired teachers that are members of the STS benefit plans.

What information do I need to provide the dental office to submit a claim?

Insurance Carrier:  Green Shield Canada (GSC)
As of January 1, 2023, you will need to present your digital GSC ID card and ask the dental provider to submit your claims directly to GSC. All of the information the dental provider will require for direct billing is on the card.

The Benefits of Going Online!
You will not get a physical benefits card. GSC will email you a digital welcome kit that will contain your new digital GSC ID card and instructions for creating your GSC everywhere account. Update your preferred email address on MySTF to ensure you receive this information.
